Baba Ganoush has originated from Levant, Lebanon. National cuisine of Turkey, Syria, Palestine, Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Israel and Armenia.

Baba Ghanoush also called Baba Ghanouj or Baba Ganoush, is a Lebanese appetizer made using mixed of aubergine, lemon juice, oilive oil and many other seasonings. But I found that if you want to take this healthy and tasty recipe to the next level, add some fresh parsley, ground cumin seeds and smoked paprika.

If you do not know what a Baba Ghanoush is. Do you know HUMMUS? Yes, you are right, Baba Ghanoush is very similar to hummus, but used eggplant instead of chickpeas.

We all know where hummus is originated from, yes you are right. Baba Ghanoush is also originated from the Eastern Mediterranean region.

When I started eating the first time, I was told it is served with raw, crispy vegetable and pita bread. I mixed it up over the years and tried with some rice, chapati and normal toasty bread.

Preparation duration: 25 minutes
Cooking: 35-45 minutes
Serving: 3-4 person
Diet: Vegetarian

Aubergine/Eggplant/Begun: 3 medium
Vine tomatoes: 2 large and chopped
Red pepper: 1 roasted and chopped red pepper
Parsley: Around a bunch, fresh and chopped
Garlic: 1 clove and crushed
Pomegranate: whole pomegranate seeds only
Oil: 1 tablespoon cooking oil or extra virgin oilve oil
Pomegranate Molasses: 1 tablespoon Pomegranate Molasses (I am using my homemade Pomegranate Molasses)
Salt: to taste
Black pepper: to taste and ground

How to Lebanese Baba Ganoush:

Step One. First thing first, pre heat your oven to 180C Fan/200C/Gas 6.

Step Two. Roast eggplant/begun for around 25-30 minutes or until they become very tender and soft. Once done, leave aside to cool them down.

Step Three. Peel the skin or scoop out the juicy aubergine flesh in a bowl.

Step Four. Stir aubergine flesh a little, then add tomatoes, parsley, and peppers. Sirt well. Now, add pomegranate molasses, garlic, olive, salt and pepper, other seasonings if required. Stir and mix very well. If you wish, you may also which will give you a smooth and plain mix that will slip through your tongue. Delicious!

Pour the mix on a plate, dazzle some olive oil at the top, Enjoy!
